About me

Financial Translator @ 7:17 pm

Peace of mind is a precious commodity. It comes from working with seasoned professionals you know you can rely on. Tom O’Leary is one such professional.

Tom began his career as a project manager in a major global localisation agency in Brussels. Working with industry leaders, he successfully managed large and complex projects in all major world languages.

In 2002, he became a freelance project manager and professional translator specialised in financial reporting and investor relations (he holds a Certificate in International Financial Reporting from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants – ACCA). Tom has worked for a wide range of blue-chip clients and is proud to have translated / proofread over 7.3 million words from French and Spanish. That’s over 17,000 hours of translation experience!

He also helps his clients in a number of other ways:
– Combining his linguistic expertise with his strong project management skills and putting together a team to translate client documentation in whatever languages the client requires.
– Leading large financial communications projects such as annual reports. This means that he works on the glossary, translates a portion and proofreads the remainder.
– Auditing existing translations, providing an honest appraisal of the quality of previous translations.
– Given that he has studied and worked in 6 European countries he is also interested in helping non-European clients navigate Europe’s linguistic and cultural landscape.
– Providing English-language coaching for executives.
